Privacy policy

Kikoeru Map is operated by the Kikoeru Map Project (www.kikoeru.org). The Service works without accounts and collects as little as possible.

IP addresses

IP addresses are used for abuse prevention (rate limiting, duplicate reports, bans). They are never stored in raw form; only an HMAC-SHA256 hash with a secret salt is stored, which cannot be reversed.

Location

The coordinates you choose are stored and shown on the map.
With "about 100 m" / "about 500 m" blurring, coordinates are snapped to the center of a grid cell and the exact coordinates are never stored.
Your current location (from the locate button) is only used to move the map and is not sent to the server.
Display addresses (prefecture and municipality) are obtained from the stored coordinates via the GSI reverse geocoder.

Audio files

Original file names and all embedded metadata are removed.
Posts are checked automatically (silence, voice presence, clipping, duplicates). Voice detection only estimates whether speech is present; it never transcribes content.
Deleted posts are permanently removed with their audio after 30 days. An irreversible audio fingerprint is kept to prevent re-uploads of the same sound.

Stored in your browser

Deletion tokens, display preferences and an offline cache are stored only on your device.
